Heavenly Meadows is located in the Florida Panhandle, 25 miles north of Panama City Beach, home of ‘The World’s Most Beautiful Beaches’. We are situated on 18 beautiful acres that backs up to the Florida Water Management area; 39,000 acres of horseback riding, fishing, hunting and camping are at our disposal.
Heavenly Meadows was started by chance. We were simply a drop point for another organization. When that organization ran off with over $50,000 of PMU farm's money, The Wyzard family jumped in to help and Heavenly Meadows was born.
Our first two loads of PMU's arrived in Jan & Feb '04 and we helped 31 pregnant PMU mares find their way to their new homes. All 31 of them came to Heavenly Meadows before they were picked up by their new ‘parents’ and we cannot begin to describe the joy it was to be a part of that! Founder and President Melissa Wyzard said, "It was at that moment that I knew what God wanted me to do; save more of these animals!" We have now had over 15 loads come to Heavenly Meadows and helped over 300 PMU's find new homes!
Heavenly Meadows not only wants to help the horses on the PMU line find homes though. We also want to help abused, starving andhard to handle/unwanted horses. So far we have saved several abused/starving/unwanted horses and thanks to the love of others they are all doing great!!
