important Shipping info
We have enlisted several haulers to help us. You can use your own hauler or one of ours. If you would like a list of haulers that we have compiled feel fee to contact us (info@heavenlymeadows.org).
We use Keyhole Ranch for our Canadian/US hauling needs. They are incredible to work with and the horses always arrive in excellent shape (hydrated and well fed). Keyhole is always making Candian/ND runs to all over the US. They work to fill the loads and try to use drop points so that the shipping prices are low to adopters. Visit OUR MAIN HAULER page for more info (including contact info) on Keyhole Ranch.
Heavenly Meadows is always working hard to find good quality haulers to ensure the safe arrival of your newly adopted equine. If you are a hauler or know of a good quality hauler please e-mail us their/your information to info@heavenlymeadows.org and we will add you to our list.
Be aware that any horse being shipped must have a current Coggins and health certificate. Coggins are good for 1 year from the date tested, however health certificates are only valid for 30 days. If your equine is coming from a PMU farm it WILL have a current coggins and health certificate, which is part of your adoption fee. However, if your equine stays for more than 30 days at any given place you will be required to get a new health certificate prior to shipping it home at your expense. If your equine is coming from Heavenly Meadows these tests will be done, but again at the adopter's expense as this is separate from the adoption fee. (See‘FEE’ section for more details)
Whoever you chose to haul your equine, make sure they know that they MUST stop at ALL Agricultural Stations along the interstate. Even if the hauler is on the way to pick the horse(s) up and the trailer is empty, they still MUST stop at all Agricultural Stations they pass.
IMPORTANT NOTE: When getting an equine hauled it should be noted that the hauler is NOT liable for anything that happens to your equine while in their care. We advise that you look into getting equine insurance to protect you and your equine during the shipping process. To learn more about equine insurance Click Here.
