Melissa,
Here is a pic of her when you got her, and a few at the American Warmblood Society Inspection where she was approved as an AWS mare. What a difference a year makes. From a horse that was meant for slaughter to a 2 year old In-Hand Dressage Champion, WOW! She is so loving, kind, and willing to please. This fall we will take her to the ISR inspection to be in the Pre-Mare book. She is absolutely stunning, and has the best disposition. Thank-you for blessing me with her.
Cheers,

Kerrie in FL

PICS COMING SOON!

I think things always happen for a reason. My reasoning for coming across Heavenly Meadows Rescue was to make a long life dream come true. As corny as this sounds..Every year my parents would head to Georgia for summer vacation, it seemed like a long, long trip but I never minded because I wasn't in the car. Yes, physically I was in the seat with my head pressed against the window but mentally I rode my beautful black horse along the car, all the way there. We would jump over bridges, swim through the rivers and of course my black beauty and I were always the first ones there!!! Well now that I am older I found my "black beauty" through Melissa (Thank You!!!). No, I don't ride her to Georgia but we sure do have fun running in the fields and walking through the woods. She has the perfect mane, coat and tail just as I rembered as a kid. Her name is "Genesis" and not only has she blessed me with a smile on my face daily but she also surprised us with a colt full of personality! I am so thankful that Heavenly Meadows was so great to work with. In fact, I even made another trip for our newest adoption "Keely". She is just as perfect! Thanks again Melissa for being the "reason" I have my horses that I have always wanted..you guys do make dreams come true!!!!!!

I adopted Ibis as a yearling two years ago.  She has been a wonderful addition to our family and a great companion for my thoroughbred.  Ibis is a sweetheart who loves head scratches and treats.  I have worked with her since the day I picked her up and she has been very willing and easy to train.  She is awesome for the farrier, easy to trailer, and actually likes to be hosed off every night after a hot day in the pasture.  We have started walk, trot, canter work and besides learning quickly, she is very comfortable to ride.  On the trails, she hardly ever looks at anything let alone spooks.  I love her and can't imagine not having her.  Heavenly Meadows does a wonderful thing by helping to place horses in homes they deserve.

Thanks,

Mala and Ibis in FL

"MICKEY" (AKA - C-JINX)

Jinx, now named Mickey, has been ADOPTED by Val and Family in FL! Congratulations Jinx! Thank you Val & Family!!

C-Jinx/Mickey came from an ex-PMU farm in Sask. Canada.

Here is what the new mommy had to say the day he arrived at his new home (10/14/06):

"I spent 2 hours in his stall just talking/singing to him, touching him, and he even stood mostly quiet while I sprayed a little fly spray on him. Oh goodness, it's too cute, he's barely tall enough to put his head over the door. He must of come a very long way, and I thank everyone who got him there."

Here is the most recent update (10/23/06):

"Our Mickey is looking tons better, and he is bonding wonderfully. He is super super smart, and is learning in leaps and bounds.
We are still working on cross tying/grooming. He does well so far, as long as I am not trying to clean his feet. The ladies at the barn help hold him on a lead line while I am doing that. He stands for a sponge bath, I can put a halter and and off w/o probs, he backs just by putting a little pressure on his nose, drops his head with a little pressure between his ears, and does crossovers when moving him from side to side. Also, we have this game when it comes time to bring him out of the pasture. He will not come at first, but man, as soon as I start walking away he's at that gate in a flash. He loves all of the attention he is getting, and I can even clean his stall while he is in it. Mostly, I am just sitting around watching him move in the fields."

TOOTIE was a PMU mare that was scheduled to be shipped to auction along with 25+ other mares. All mares were saved thanks to loving people like Cheri below!

"I adopted Tootie from Heavenly Meadows in March, and she has been a joy! Melissa and her connections lived up to every detail of their promises, and were so easy to work with. Tootie is a 12 year old mare, and on May 15th she had a little filly, who I’ve named Shiloh (2 weeks before Angelina and Brad had THEIR baby!) She is adorable and friendly. They are both so sweet. I recommend Heavenly Meadows if you want to adopt a horse!!  Cheri Lehew - FL"
